The work of the Partnership for Working Families is focused around three broad, overlapping issue areas:

Community Benefits and Responsible Development Now more than ever, we must make sure that development results in shared prosperity, and that public resources are invested for public benefit wisely, with an eye on long-term outcomes. Our main goals are to broaden public participation and to ensure that economic development creates real, measurable community benefits. This framework can make development a powerful force in improving the lives of workers, families and cities as a whole.

Good Jobs and Workers' Rights The Partnership is supporting efforts at the local and federal levels to create pathways to living wage jobs and career opportunities, and to dismantle barriers that prevent workers from joining unions. Together with our allies, we are striving to give workers a voice in the workplace and make the economy work for everyone again. An important component of this work is our Construction Career Opportunities Project.

Clean and Safe Environment True sustainability has three key components: environmental health, economic viability, and equality of opportunity. Separating envrionmental issues from economics and equity can only result in short-term, partial solutions to the complex problems facing our nation's communities.
